Browsers crashing on 25272 to 25300 - Display Resolution Bug - Temporarily Solved

Chrome, Edge & Firefox, all crash and the OS becomes unresponsive, I can't recover it unless I shutdown.

Anyone else seeing this?

Update:

A temporary solution is to use recommended display resolution or change to MS basic display driver.

I added build 25290 to the tiltle because even though the blog calls it fixed, some users are still experiencing this bug.

    In your case the basic Microsoft display driver may use 1920 x 1080 default, which is not supported by your screen which is only 1366 x 768.

    That makes sense, I didn't noticed the grayed out box.

    Unfortunately, I don't have an extra monitor to test your theory. 😞

    For some tests with an external screen with the Lenovo Yoga laptop I just use a standard TV, I have a small Lenovo Adapter from USB-C to HDMI. 😉

    Hi Sibro,

    Just for curiosity I tried another experiment uninstalling the Nvidia driver and using the Basic MS display driver.

    I can see why it may work when using the basic Microsoft display driver, but only on machines that have a screen supporting the default resolution.

    The resolution option is grayed out and cannot be changed, it just uses the standard resolution, in this case 3480 x 2160. 🤐🤷‍♂️

    In your case the basic Microsoft display driver may use 1920 x 1080 default, which is not supported by your screen which is only 1366 x 768. 😎

    No way to get 1920 x 1080?

    No, on the built-in display I can go lower but not higher.

    I've given up on this issue, I don't like to force shutdown so often.

    This build 25272 is just broken in more than one place, we'll see what happens on next Build. 🤐🤷‍♂️
