Preparing for Insider Preview Builds of Windows 11 - ***UPDATED 6/28***

For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    It would be helpful if Settings told us in which way our PCs weren't meeting the minimum requirements. Otherwise we are likely to spend half a day trying to fix the wrong thing. The other that seems to have been overlooked is that a lot of us, most I would imagine, use an older machine for beta testing so this is going to be a big issue for a lot of Insiders.

    The bigger issue I see, though, is that my Surface Pro 4 doesn't meet the requirements but it is my everyday PC and I expect it to remain so for many more years. So you are not just excluding me from the Insider Programme, you are letting me know that I don't need to worry about Windows 11 for a long time yet. Because if my everyday PC isn't going to work with Windows 11, there is no reason I would want to install it on my workstation PC, either.

    Thanks for bringing up DXDIAG.   Looks like it knows what 'build' I am on better than PC Health check.

    if you don't have a tpm then you need to go ot the bios and look for and option named

    PTT and enable it

    now try to install w11 again

    Intel PTT is basically thefirmware alternative to a the hardware based TPM

    Definitely would be helpful if the Microsoft "AI" would help us zero in on specific area of concern.  Hope you submitted this to Feedback Hub too.   Looks like there are some good tools being mentioned to ferret out what are the 'real' specs.

    Running DXDIAG does seem to report the correct build that is installed on mine vs the build reported on PC Health Check.  

    Would be surprised if we don't see a much better version the beginning of next week and perhaps better clarification of requirements for Insiders vs the Users of the Released product if there is such a thing.  

    Just like Musk rockets sometimes it takes a few attempts to get them into orbit. Am sure they are working to make this a smooth(er) transition. There will be some security requirements put into place as that is part of the new OS.  It would not be Windows 11 if they just changed a few menus and changed the wallpaper..  .
