Preparing for Insider Preview Builds of Windows 11 - ***UPDATED 6/28***

For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    I agree it is disappointing, especially when you have purchased the PC within the last 4 years

    however, the I7-5930K was launched around August 2014 and has since been discontinued, intel's support for it ends next week (13th July 2021), Customer Support Options for Discontinued Intel® Processors

    when Microsoft's support for windows 10 ends in 2025 that CPU will be 11 years old and the device itself 7-8 years old. Windows 10 will continue to run after support ends.

    Microsoft must move forward to make the most of new technology available, as new features will be added to windows 11 during its lifetime (like windows 10).

    Excluding discontinued hardware from the minimum specs, is (perhaps) reasonable as the new features going forward will not be tested on them (or already known, internally, not to work)

    or at least it is better to know now than find in two years they release an update that will not work on discontinued CPUs

    Well, those requirements so disappointed me, Microsoft don't care about million users, I know security is a top priority but

    seems to be windows 11 only for last 3 or 4 years hardware, such a shame. at least thanks to windows 10 last windows for everyone because windows 11 doesn't work with any PC's for no good reason.

    It is not an error, it is a warning.

    You are running windows 11 on a device that does not meet the minimum specs.

    [the CPU is not on the list of windows 11 supported processors, Windows Processor Requirements Windows 11 Supported AMD Processors | Microsoft Docs]

    the warning is simply reminding you that features may not work properly on unsupported hardware.

    there is always a risk in running pre-release versions there may be bugs and issues that could result in instability or data loss, even if the device does meet the minimum specs.

    regular backups are essential when running any pre-release software.

    I have an error message like this. but i can use windows 11 with my specs computer is ryzen 3 1200 rx550. what the mean of an error message?
