Preparing for Insider Preview Builds of Windows 11 - ***UPDATED 6/28***

For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    I have a laptop with TPM 2.0 specification , i7 7700 HQ processor , GTX1050 4GB GPU . But Windows 11 health check says its not compatible. Can any one say which part of this hardware is causing the issue. I tried clearing TPM , enabling, disabling it as well as secure boot is on . Still error remained same .

    Although your CPU should run Win 11 ok at release, for the Insider Dev Channel, the 1st build is targeted for the soft requirements in regards to CPU, this means 8th Gen Intel or higher, and 2nd Gen Ryzen or higher, at least for now.

    When they update the PC Health Check app at some point, Hardware detection should improve, and hopefully, we will get more info on what exactly Microsoft doesn't like with our setups.

    I don't know for dev channel, but for beta channel, it says that there may be bugs but still will let me upgrade.

    Looking over my PC to ensure I meet the requirements for W11 but I'm having issues.

    I have Secure Boot and TPM enabled in the BIOS (tpm.msc also confirmed it is ready for use).

    • TPM is 2.0
    • DirectX 12
    • 64 Bit system
    • Clock speed is 3 Ghz
    • RAM is 8 GB
    • 403 GB storage currently free

    I think the only requirement I'm failing on is that I have a 7th Gen processor (Core i5-7400).

    That's just barely below the requirement.

    I know this is probably a sticking point for Microsoft, but I feel like my system should be able to run W11 just fine.

    I guess I'll have to upgrade just to install the new OS.

    That is actually the soft floor. The hard floor is much lower.

    Yes, but for the 1st round of Insider builds they are using the soft floor I believe, and that's what is blocking so many people from getting on the Insider Dev Channel in settings.
