For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    Hello,

    I am wondering why the AMD Ryzen 2500U processor is not in the list of supported AMD processors.

    I have checked the requirements and it seems to have passed all of them.

    1 GHz CPU? ✔️ Ryzen 2500U has a base clock speed of 2.0 GHz

    2 or more cores? ✔️ Ryzen 2500U has 4 cores and 8 threads

    4 or more GB of RAM? ✔️ My current device have 8 GB of RAM

    64 GB or larger storage? ✔️ I am using a 240 GB M.2 SSD

    UEFI, Secure Boot capable? ✔️ Yes, Secure Boot is available and enabled

    Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0? ✔️ I checked everywhere and supposedly TPM 2.0 is enabled (tpm.msc reports specification version 2.0)

    Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 Driver? ✔️ dxdiag reports WDDM 3.0 and DirectX 12 (With DirectX Ultimate) compatibility

    High Definition (720p) display greater than 9" diagonally, 8 bits per colour channel? ✔️ My device has a 14" display and is capable of running Windows 10 in 1080p

    I was weirded out on why my device isn't supported, but apparently my processor is not in the list of supported AMD processors. I am wondering why this processor isn't supported considering that Windows 10 21H1 supports it. Is the processor just too old? If so, why is the Ryzen 5 2500X processor listed while 2500U isn't? Currently, I am considering uninstalling Windows and moving over to Linux.

    I'm on Windows Insider: Dev and passing the PC Health Check that I can run Windows 11. But the Windows Update option says I'm up to date. Am I missing something?

    It's just bad handling on Microsoft's part. Windows 11 should be compatible with CPUs having 2 cores and clock speed greater than 1 GHz provided all other requirements are met. Microsoft just doesn't guarantee that there won't be CPU-related bugs.

    While we don't have any definite answer, my guess is that hardware meeting the minimum system requirements, even having an old CPU, will be able to get the Windows 11 update.
