The i7 4790k is a 4th generation processor. Launched in 2014 and has been discontinued by Intel, Intel support ended 13th June 2021 Customer Support Options for Discontinued Intel® Processors

Windows 11 requires an 8th generation processor.

Perhaps you should start your own thread with this problem, in the Insider forum. Using insider builds we don't have much control over what Microsoft wish to do but in the Insider forum I've not seen mention of 22000.1 when the upgrade to Windows 11 was released.

This thread is preparing for the Windows 11 release to insiders.

Yes, even today it remains at 22000.1. Will not update and flashes that TPM screen. This computer had build the latest insider build and was fully up to date on July 24 for the announcement. Unable to obtain a TPM module (out of stock at NewEgg) and my motherboard requires the TPM module to present any options in the latest Bios.

My focus with Windows been about hardware functionality. When Microsoft turns some things on and off it confuses the issue of compatibility and functionality. Perhaps we need to see the roadmap. Does this mean the 'sneakernet' era is over and we can't move anything around without Microsoft or third parties being aware ? Will CD / DVD / BlueRay devices be eliminated next ? Only USB, Bluetooth, NFC and WiFi ?

A lot of people like 'helpful' software. When it becomes 'monitoring and tracking' software there needs to be a line drawn... .

There are more questions here than just hardware requirements and the need to know what user options will be going forward. In the past users had control over what is 'online' and 'offline' . What is happening to that 'offline' part ? Will Microsoft clarify ?

Am still submitting Feedbacks (bug bash) for the version of Win 11 I have including Feedbacks in EdgeCan for the new Widget features from it. Lots of interesting things happening there, a bit rough. Can see the connection with the Win 10 'experiments for Dev builds. The new wallpapers are a big step up as well.

Just hope I can get some kind of Win11 update until I can workout what to do make compatible with release version. It is much harder to get some parts today.
