Yes, you get updates also on non compliant boxes, but not the beta updates because you cannot join the Beta insider, only the public build updates.

As for .NET 5.0.11 I have not seen it on any of my Beta boxes yet.

I don't use VM, my Beta machines are compliant boxes.

    Isn't 22000.258 a Beta update?

That's where I'm at after KB5006674 shown above

I think an app installed 5.0 runtime and that's why I'm getting updates, but I don't know which one

No, 22000.258 is the public build and it was also the Beta before 22000.282 which is now the Beta.

You will not get .282 on public build right now, only on Beta.

Maybe next week they will let .282 to the public too ?

.NET Downloads (Linux, macOS, and Windows) (microsoft.com)

Now I'm more confused than before.

You said "Why confused ? Looks like you are non insider public windows 11 build."

So, if I was on Public 22000.194 and non insider, how come I just got 22000.282 on a totally non-compliant device?

I think from your display you are getting .258 not .282 ?

    Never mind. I didn't get .282, I got .258

I'm sorry for my confusion, I guess my mind isn't working properly since yesterday.

I'm out, thanks for your attention really appreciated

    Cheers!

Apparently, the Team has overlooked the Optional Updates crash again... This bug has been plaguing quite a few users and, like me, there are several optional updates that are available, but, when you click on Settings->Advanced Options->OptionalUpdates, Settings crashes completely... Is this fix coming out soon? Asking for a friend...
