Clean Install of Windows 11 Ni Preview Build works with Build 22557, but not with 22563, 22567, 22572, 22581, 22593, 25115

I created all 5 installation ISO files for all 5 Builds, but only 22557 contains all the system Apps required for a full clean install, the other 4 are missing all the basic Windows and System Apps needed for a functional system. Also, the App required for opening Windows Security (Microsoft.SecHeatlthUI) is missing, all this makes the resulting system unusable.

Last one on 22557.

I noticed another issue common to all the Ni builds, if they are used for an upgrade or in-place they may only work correctly if they are done online allowing the check for updates.

If I use the option "Change how Setup download updates" to "Not right now", the upgrade or update in place still completes, but it creates a problem on subsequent W.U.

In this case W.U. goes in a loop trying to Download and Install the same Build over and over. Error 0xc1900401 is logged in that case.

I could not find a way out of that loop.

If I do the same upgrade or update in place online letting the Setup check for updates, as recommended, the process may complete correctly without subsequent W.U. loop issues, but the behavior is inconsistent depending on how the previous update was done.

The official MS Insider ISO 22579 includes all the required Apps and the Microsoft.SecHealthUI which is needed for opening Security.

    I haven't had a chance to play with 79 fully, but this is from the ReadMe.html file from "uup-converter-wimlib-79" for config settings:

    So not sure how this is all suppose to work. Yes there is going to be a time delay to create these Nickel ISO's down the road. Thanks MS.

    I see in the ConvertConfig those 2 parameters are set to 0 as a default, but it is not finding any of the Apps to add.

    Still not clear where those Apps are downloaded by W.U.

    Apparently, they are not in SoftwareDistribution folder.

    Perhaps on next Build after W.U. downloads I will search the whole C: volume to see if I can find the files anywhere. 🤷‍♂️

    What about the AddUpdates, should that be set to 1?

    The add updates is for any Net or CU cab updates that one adds for the final image. This kicks in Dism to add those cabs.

    Yes thanks. I just saw that adding the updates for 22581.100 and 22581.200.

    Still does not get the Apps unless the files are in the folder.

    Tried the other Apps options 1,2,3 they seem to be just a subset of AppsLevel set to 0 which is the default and includes 57 plus Apps.

    Looks like it is still work in progress. 😉

    The current converter script v79 is not finding any of those Apps in the Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder to include in the ISO.

    So where could those files be? 😎

    Maybe MS finally found a way to use existing files and download what is strictly necessary to complete the update instead of downloading everything every time.
