Clean Install of Windows 11 Ni Preview Build works with Build 22557, but not with 22563, 22567, 22572, 22581, 22593, 25115

I created all 5 installation ISO files for all 5 Builds, but only 22557 contains all the system Apps required for a full clean install, the other 4 are missing all the basic Windows and System Apps needed for a functional system. Also, the App required for opening Windows Security (Microsoft.SecHeatlthUI) is missing, all this makes the resulting system unusable.

Last one on 22557.

I noticed another issue common to all the Ni builds, if they are used for an upgrade or in-place they may only work correctly if they are done online allowing the check for updates.

If I use the option "Change how Setup download updates" to "Not right now", the upgrade or update in place still completes, but it creates a problem on subsequent W.U.

In this case W.U. goes in a loop trying to Download and Install the same Build over and over. Error 0xc1900401 is logged in that case.

I could not find a way out of that loop.

If I do the same upgrade or update in place online letting the Setup check for updates, as recommended, the process may complete correctly without subsequent W.U. loop issues, but the behavior is inconsistent depending on how the previous update was done.

The official MS Insider ISO 22579 includes all the required Apps and the Microsoft.SecHealthUI which is needed for opening Security.

    Hi Johnny,

    I'm trying with v79 of the converter, and it is adding all these.

    Sure, seems to take a long time. We'll see what happens.

    I see SecHealthUI added. that is a good sign. 😊

    The resulting ISO worked fine, has Settings and all the needed Apps.

    Hi Johnny,

    All the needed windows Apps are installed including SecHealthUI 22581 on this clean install with the ISO just Built as you suggested.

    Apparently, all those Apps are not downloaded by W.U. to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

    I wonder how they get those Apps and where they are stored during W.U. ?

    It will be a pain if we have to download all that extra stuff just to build a working ISO. 😒

    See the 2 files below both built with converter v79.

    With the second one it did not find any of the needed Apps.

    The first file below was the one built adding all the Apps merging the 2 sets of UUP files as you mentioned.

    The second one was built directly from C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download after doing a W.U.

    Hopefully abbodi1406 will figure out the best way for doing this.

    Moving in the right direction, but not there yet. 😎

    Hi Johnny,

    I still cannot figure out how and where W.U. is downloading all the Apps.

    The Build upgrade done with W.U. works fine and all the WindowsApps are updated, but where are those files downloaded?

    The current converter script v79 is not finding any of those Apps in the Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder to include in the ISO.

    So where could those files be? 😎

    I haven't had a chance to play with 79 fully, but this is from the ReadMe.html file from "uup-converter-wimlib-79" for config settings:

    So not sure how this is all suppose to work. Yes there is going to be a time delay to create these Nickel ISO's down the road. Thanks MS.
