Hi Sibro,
Here are 2 of the differences I see on the 2 ISOs without and with the fix to remove the installation restrictions.
From the total size of the ISO files, I assume there are some other files changed besides appraiserres.dll the ISO with the fix is 938KB bigger. I did not look for all the differences, the only one visible at first glance is the apparaiserres.dll.
Original file with no FIX:
Modified ISO with the FIX:
I got it now, but I had to use the one for multi_creatingISO, did not work with the 1st option creatingISO, why the different behavior in the 2 scripts? Only the second script shows the menu, then I turned off M. because I only need one edition.
That is weird, it worked for me when I posted the screenshot but now it doesn't work as you point out. 🤔
Anyway, I'm glad it works for now at least. 😁
It does not make much sense why the 1st script does not show the menu, I used the second script and made the ISO which allowed the update as it did with my manually modified ISO. It finished the update right now from 19044.1415 to 22526.1000
The only difference is that using the manual workaround I can also do the update fine with W.U. 😉
I'm sure there will be more blocks coming on future builds to create a new puzzle.
Only difference I noticed in the sources folder of this AdGuard ISO is that the appraiserres.dll is only 86 KB instead of 169 KB that I see from the ISO created from SoftwareDistribution after I updated the compliant machine. Clearly, they don't say what was changed in that file to bypass the requirements.
