Update Error in Windows 10 21H1 ( OS Build : 19043.899 )

Thanks but got it updated a couple days ago.  I don't know how it happened but it worked.  I last tired the old chkdsk/r and went to restart and it updated.  I don't have a clue if the chkdsk helped or not.

Have you even tried the in-place upgrade via ISO from the RP channel. This would take your system to 19043.867 just prior to the bug ridden update of .899 and then WU will update to 19043.928 or you could use the msu file from Microsoft Catalog.

This has worked for myself and many others. You might be waiting forever for MS to get this right. This has all been explained thoroughly in many threads already. You have to get your device off of 19043.899 first for WU to work.

If they do the update in place while online and checking for updates with 19043.867 ISO it will take it up directly to 19043.928.

It even works with the current 20H2 MCT ISO 19042.631, it will get to 19042.928 and then W.U. will download the 21H1 Enablement package and and the latest experience package plus the .NET updates. :-)

As for the .msu not many users know where to find it, or end downloading the wrong one :-(

Looks like it is not finishing the installation with the .msu either.

Also trying to install the .cab ends up with the same error0x800f0984. The only way that worked for me from .899 was Update in Place with ISO.

Deactivated the Antivirus software and tried to install the New 2021-04 update ( KB5001330 ) , but once again the same  Error 0x800f0984 is displaying 

MS - Kindly resolve this issue at your earliest.

I don't know if I got remote help or not, but it updated today and I'm still showing OS Build 19043.899.

Yesterday, I did the old fashioned chkdsk/r 

This morning I still had the error for KB5001330, and I'm not sure if I did a retry or not, but the last time I saw it with the error 0800f0984, I went directly to a Restart.   

From there it took like forever to restart.  I read  a little, took my walk, went to lunch and when I returned it was ready.

I went to Update....and lo and behold my system says I'm "up-to-date",  most recent update KB50001330, completed successfully.

Looks like MS may have fixed the Windows Update problem for this case.

I will give it a try later to see it it now works....

Just tried and still failed Windows Update.

If you still show 19043.899 it means it did not update, it should be 19043.928 😉
