    Hi Johnny,

    F.Y.I.

I did a few more tests about the Solitaire Collection continuous update bug, I can confirm that it only failed on machines that do not meet the Windows 11 Requirements. It is not clear why, but that is the way I saw it.

I switched the 2 machines that are fully compliant from Beta to Dev and they still don't show the problem.

If I uninstall and reinstall the App, it is downloaded and installed once through Xbox and it does not try to update again.

The behavior is exactly the same in Beta channel or Development channel for this Solitaire app.

The only difference in Dev are a few more apps including MS Store and Snipping tool which are now at a higher level.

The Solitaire bug is not happening at all on these fully compliant machines. It is not just a coincidence.

I saw this already when I had the Dell XPS 8930 in Dev channel weeks ago, but now I can confirm it on 2 different machines.

For some reason the bug only shows up on the non compliant machines.

Keep in mind that the desktop was a clean install of Windows 11, but the Lenovo Laptop was an update from 19043.1165 to 22000.160.

They both seem to behave exactly the same way.

    @Johnny_55,

I've actually seen 3 different behaviors on this Solitaire collection continuous update.

    1. Always failed on development from the first time they tried to update the app.
    2. Never failed on Beta machines (Fully meeting the Win 11 requirements) and keeps working fine even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, only downloads once and no more continuous update attempts.

This was tested in 2 Beta machines, Dell XPS8930 and Lenovo Yoga 920. Both meeting all Windows 11 requirements.

    1. After updating a machine from Windows 10 that already had the app at the latest level 4.10.7290.0. A) In this case it will not try to update because the app is already up to date. No problem if you leave it alone. B) If I uninstall and reinstall the app the continuous update bug shows up again. This seems to be the case only for machines not meeting the Windows 11 Requirements.

    Hi Johnny,

I just tried a clean install of 22000.160 and enrolled on Dev, the Solitaire Collection still keeps updating the same way as the other Dev machines.

MS will have to fix this bug eventually.

I have no idea why this bug is not showing up on my Beta machine ?

    Good Morning fg,

No explanation for that Beta machine. I must have clean installed W11 over dozen times over the weekend, same behavior every time with Solitaire. Didn't matter if Dev or Beta, constant upgrade. To make matters worse, old fix of uninstalling and then wanting further xbox updates. Wow! Talk about invasion of OS.

As CK mentioned regarding Store, it is somewhat workable for me with recent update, but should retain user view option choice. Step by tiny Step.

@Eddie, please do something about the Notification Screen, to clear entries. You did correct this with W10 locating "Clear Notifications" to bottom of notification screen from the top. New version, back to old MS illogical way. Why?

Eddie, concluding, get the Weather back in the Notification area of taskbar as N&I did. One of the Teams great ideas, gone with W11. This was so convenient, at a glance. Widgets don't make up for this. Got a cold Canadian beer waiting for you :-)

    Regards,
