Widget feature missing in Windows 11

Hello.

I had the same problem with Win 11 widgets that went on for several days possible a week. I finally solved the problem. I tried what every post I could find said to do unsuccessfully including signing in and out of Edge, local and MS accounts with the computer, and all the other things including disabling and enabling my video driver. Simply turning it on didn't work since it disappeared from the taskbar menu, and the actual widget screen would appear at times then instantly disappear. I eventually tracked the problem in the event viewer which led me to a cryptic problem in Windows Apps. At that point after days to arrive there, I realize it could be anything with something missing like a file or code or even compatibility with another program or working code anywhere in the system. Since the object would appear and work momentarily I felt it had to do with a sudden incompatibility problem where the code to activate met with a stop. I was very hesitant to reinstall Win 11 since it was initially an upgrade from 10, and my effort to correct the error through SFC and health check had failed through the command prompt. I did however earlier download a Win 11 iso close to the version I had. Once I learned I could do an in place repair using that ISO without having to boot from it, as a last resort, I gave it a try. This also failed, but everything remained in tact since I instructed it to keep my files and settings. I really didn't want to do a clean install, but hoping an update would fix the broken feature was a longshot since I already had gotten an cumulative update after upgrading to 11. It was then I just was knocking around, and thought about the video driver again. I went into device manager, and to the display driver again, and knew just disabling and enabling it wouldn't work, but I tried it anyway. It didn't work. I then looked to update the driver, and it is quite possible at one time I did download a later video driver I never installed since I was willing to wait for windows update to do it for compatibility safety. This newer driver was in my own files, and the searching only returned a verdict I had the best driver available. I took the plunge and installed it-it did accept it, and took a few harrowing moments to seat itself. My graphics appeared fine. I then tried the widget function. It worked flawlessly. I was in disbelief that updating my video driver that wasn't even very old was causing this problem. I am certain anyone having similar symptoms to attempt updating their video driver safely. The driver must be newer and appropriate. I have an Intel Iris integrated chip. Hope this long note helps someone. Good luck!

I can toggle the Widget On and Off. But when it is On and I click on it, it opens for a fraction of a second and then closes.

There were different problems causing your symptom, I had that issue on one MSI Laptop and the problem was caused by the Intel Display Driver.

In my case I have both Intel and Nvidia display drivers on the same laptop, so I forced it to use the Nvidia instead of Automatic selection and that fixed my problem.

There were several FBH reports about video drivers causing the problem.

On my desktop PC with an 980ti video card, that is all that's listed. But I selected it instead of "auto select" but it didn't fix the issue with the Widgets opening and then closing right away.

I tried this, did the uninstall in Powershell. But when going to the Microsoft Store link to download "Windows Web Experience Pack" it will not do anything.
