Fingerprint Sensor Not Working After Windows 11 Update

I have an Asus Vivobook 14 X413JA.

Yesterday, I downloaded the windows 11 insider preview build from the dev channel, but I was disappointed to find that windows hello couldn't recognize my fingerprint when I tried to log in.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers of my fingerprint sensor but still, it doesn't work.

I have an Acer Aspire A515-55

Window 11 PRO Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000

I have the same problem with the fingerprint reader

I downloaded the driver for this laptop from Acer and installed it for a fresh install. This did nothing.

Then I followed your instructions and my credential manager was set to "manual". I changed it to "automatic" through a local account then went back to my MS account. I removed my old fingerprint from "Windows Hello" then put a new one in. When I closed the laptop and reopened it the fingerprint reader worked. When I rebooted it would not. It seems it isn't being saved for some reason.

    Same for me. I can get working until I restart my computer.

    My desktop is not an ASUS, but it does have an EWAN fingerprint sensor. This is a cheap usb device I got from ALIEXPRESS which worked perfectly on Windows 10.

    Likely something specific with this device or manufacturer.

    Since to have Windows 11 you have to be a Insider already, just hit check for updates and make sure you are on the Latest version. Then go to Accounts > Sign-in Options > Fingerprint Recognition & Remove the existing fingerprints, then newly Setup Windows Hello Fingerprint Recognition.
