I have an Asus Vivobook 14 X413JA.

Yesterday, I downloaded the windows 11 insider preview build from the dev channel, but I was disappointed to find that windows hello couldn't recognize my fingerprint when I tried to log in.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers of my fingerprint sensor but still, it doesn't work.

I have an Acer Aspire A515-55

Window 11 PRO Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000

I have the same problem with the fingerprint reader

I downloaded the driver for this laptop from Acer and installed it for a fresh install. This did nothing.

Then I followed your instructions and my credential manager was set to "manual". I changed it to "automatic" through a local account then went back to my MS account. I removed my old fingerprint from "Windows Hello" then put a new one in. When I closed the laptop and reopened it the fingerprint reader worked. When I rebooted it would not. It seems it isn't being saved for some reason.

We're investigating the issue. In the mean time, please feel free to add your issue to Feedback Hub. Appreciate your patience.

asus vivobook 15 M513IA. The figerprint scanner is build into the touchpad. I have tried everything and it's not showing up in device manager at all. Driver installation don't do anything. I have checked the BIOS (btw. latest version) and there are no setting regarding biometrics.

    Hi PiotrBoszowski,

What make and model is your computer? Have you checked the bios that biometric is enabled if part of the computer's hardware, if its 3rd party how is it connected to the computer?

Generally the harware has to be found by the computer before the drivers can be installed.
