Fingerprint Sensor Not Working After Windows 11 Update

I have an Asus Vivobook 14 X413JA.

Yesterday, I downloaded the windows 11 insider preview build from the dev channel, but I was disappointed to find that windows hello couldn't recognize my fingerprint when I tried to log in.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers of my fingerprint sensor but still, it doesn't work.

I have an Acer Aspire A515-55

Window 11 PRO Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000

I have the same problem with the fingerprint reader

I downloaded the driver for this laptop from Acer and installed it for a fresh install. This did nothing.

Then I followed your instructions and my credential manager was set to "manual". I changed it to "automatic" through a local account then went back to my MS account. I removed my old fingerprint from "Windows Hello" then put a new one in. When I closed the laptop and reopened it the fingerprint reader worked. When I rebooted it would not. It seems it isn't being saved for some reason.

We're investigating the issue. In the mean time, please feel free to add your issue to Feedback Hub. Appreciate your patience.

i have asus vivobook 15 M513IA and installing the lenovo drivers didn't help. Still the same nothing. No trace of biometrics in device manager. Driver installation well seems like it's doing nothing. No option to enter the biometrics setting because it says no compatible device. It straight looks like there is no biometrics in my device. In win10 before update everything was working fine ...

Hey there... that's a real shame it didn't work. It sounds deeper than just a simple driver fix. Windows 11 isn't seeing the actual hardware. If it were my laptop, I would backup your data and perform a clean install. If that's not something you feel comfortable doing, I would contact ASUS directly and get their support. Their telephone support is complimentary with a qualifying product.
