    Hello DESHONDRA HAMPTON,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'll try to help you, but "reset the mouse" usually involves different steps, depending on what you mean by "reset."

What brand and model of mouse device do you use? Use a wired connection or a wireless connection?

I suspect that you may have some problems with your mouse, but I don't know what you want to do, so I will share as many possibilities as possible here, hoping to help you.

    1. Check the battery (wireless mouse) :

If you're using a wireless mouse and it's not working properly, check the battery first. Replace them with new batteries, or charge them if your mouse supports charging.

    2. Clean the mouse:

Sometimes, a dirty mouse sensor or use surface can cause abnormal behavior. Clean the bottom of the mouse and the surface you are using. Clean with a microfiber cloth and some medical alcohol.

    3. Reconnect the wireless mouse:

If your wireless mouse is not responding, you may need to re-establish the connection. Typically, this involves pressing a button on the mouse as well as the corresponding button on the USB receiver (if it's a USB receiver based mouse). Consult the mouse's manual for specific instructions.

    4. Check mouse Settings:

Sometimes, the mouse Settings on your computer can cause problems. Go to your computer's Settings or Control panel and look for mouse Settings. You can adjust the sensitivity, button assignment and other options here, some mice will have special adjustment software for adjusting the DPI of the mouse, if you want to reset the DPI, please change the options in the software.

    5. Try another USB port:

If you have a cable mouse and it doesn't work, try plugging it into another USB port. Sometimes, the port itself can cause problems.

    6. To test on another computer:

To rule out whether the problem is caused by the mouse or the computer, try using the mouse on another computer. If it works properly on another computer, the problem may be related to the hardware or software of the original computer.

    7. Restore factory Settings (Advanced) :

Some gaming mice and high-end mice have firmware that restores factory Settings. It usually involves pressing a specific combination of buttons or using software provided by the manufacturer. Refer to the mouse's manual or manufacturer's website for instructions.

    8. Contact manufacturer support:

If none of the above steps work and your mouse is still not working properly, you may want to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance, or if the mouse is under warranty, consider replacing it.

    Best regards,
