System & reserved files on a secondary drive?

System > Storage > Advance storage settings > Disk & volumes > Disk 1 > Volume name > Properties > View usage

I didn't know about this until now, is this normal? why do we need system & reserved files on a secondary drive?

Copy back a few folders at the time and keep checking to see when those 14GB start showing up in the System files. Then you can isolate which one is causing the problem.

I followed your advise and copying folder by folder does not reproduce the issue.

However, if I copy everthing at once the 14GBs come back. 🤷‍♂️

I guess we'll never know what caused the problem in the first place.

Perhaps when you got the BSOD?

Probably when you do a clone you copy over also the problem. 🤣🤣

    I made a full copy of the drive to a folder on another drive, the clone was done to a different drive.

    In Explorer I just selected everything and copied it over to the empty drive.

    Perhaps, or remnants of arm64 when I used it with the RPi4, too bad we'll never know.

    That is good to know, apparently it copied the F.S. as is.

    While copying a folder at the time it has to rebuild the whole structure.

    I sure don't know enough on how NTFS works. 🤷‍♂️

    As reflected on some of my previous comments, obviously IDK much either. 😢

    It could be remnants of other OSs as well, like a few distros of Linux, Android or Chrome Flex OS, all of which were tested on this laptop at one time or another.

    Still, IMO the wording in Windows is confusing and misleading when it comes to System & reserved usage on a secondary drive.
