System & reserved files on a secondary drive?

System > Storage > Advance storage settings > Disk & volumes > Disk 1 > Volume name > Properties > View usage

I didn't know about this until now, is this normal? why do we need system & reserved files on a secondary drive?

Copy back a few folders at the time and keep checking to see when those 14GB start showing up in the System files. Then you can isolate which one is causing the problem.

I followed your advise and copying folder by folder does not reproduce the issue.

However, if I copy everthing at once the 14GBs come back. 🤷‍♂️

Good that you could clean it up.

I guess we'll never know what caused the problem in the first place.

Perhaps when you got the BSOD?

Probably when you do a clone you copy over also the problem. 🤣🤣

    Usually, the D drive does not take up too many system reserved files, and your screenshot shows that it takes up 14G, which is not normal.

    If you have not moved the system reserved files manually, the path of the system reserved files may have been tampered with by some third-party software.

    In addition, you can check whether the system protection function is enabled.

    Windows+I open System Settings>System>About>System Protection>Select D Disk>Click "Configure" button.

    In addition, because you are currently using the preview version of the system, which may have the next unstable factors, if the problem has an impact on your use I recommend that you return to the official version to use.

    Hi,

    AFAIK, there shouldn't be ANY system & reserved files on the D: drive or any other drive except the system drive.

    I did not move the system & reserved files myself and I don't have any 3rd party software that'd do that.

    System protection is disabled for both drives.

    Same deal on Release 22621.755

    Windows reports 14GB of system & reserved files on the D: drive

    The total amount of data on the drive checks out but I can't find the files nor the location of them.
