System & reserved files on a secondary drive?

System > Storage > Advance storage settings > Disk & volumes > Disk 1 > Volume name > Properties > View usage

I didn't know about this until now, is this normal? why do we need system & reserved files on a secondary drive?

Copy back a few folders at the time and keep checking to see when those 14GB start showing up in the System files. Then you can isolate which one is causing the problem.

I followed your advise and copying folder by folder does not reproduce the issue.

However, if I copy everthing at once the 14GBs come back. 🤷‍♂️

Good that you could clean it up.

I guess we'll never know what caused the problem in the first place.

Perhaps when you got the BSOD?

Probably when you do a clone you copy over also the problem. 🤣🤣

    I'll leave it alone, unless I see any negative effect.

    Seems to work fine as it was setup by Windows. 🤣🤷‍♂️

    I meant "now" as a test. 😁

    I have plenty of space on C: no need to disable it permanently, but as the article describes, it could be useful when trying to install an update in low space conditions.

    Here is an example of a separate entry for Reserved storage. That shows that is not considered part of the System files. 🤣🤷‍♂️

    Yeah, I have a problem with System & reserved because it implies System files and the 14GB were not.

    If any, there were File System files not related to nor needed by the OS.

    btw: while doing research, I found out that Reserved storage isn't critical nor needed by Windows to function properly and even detrimental if the system disk is running low on space. I have it disabled now. 😁
