Snipping Tool issues with Build 25295

Sure did. Tried also repair and reset.

It didn't help.

Would be nice to be able to install older versions in cases like this.

Hi Sibro,

I solved the Snipping Tool problem by restoring 25284 and then upgrading to 25295 directly, skipping 25290.1000 and 25290.1010.

Snipping tool works fine now on the same machine that was failing when it went from 25290.1010 to 25295.1000.

Go figure!

What made me suspicious was that error on DCOM 25290.1010.

    If I Reset all default apps it fails again, see previous 2 posts.

    I meant what does "Screen Snipping" do on its own?

    Is it an actual app? never paid attention to it before.

    I can't confirm nor deny your findings, didn't/don't have this issue. 🤷‍♂️

    The overall symptom is a little different, but the result for the user is the same the + New button does not work.

    With 25295 it was logging errors for the crash of the App, now with 25300 is not logging anything and still not working the same way as before. All my 25295 machines had the problem except one. 🤷‍♂️

    The workaround is also different.

    Typical inconsistent MS results. 🤣🤣🤷‍♂️

    What is strange, is that the suggested workaround default for screen snipping was already set that way on one machine that was not failing even after hitting reset for all default apps. In the failing machines the default is not set the same way after a reset it starts failing again and I have to set it manually. 🤣🤣

    This one was updated from Beta to Dev 25300 and the default was already set for this, so there was no problem with the snipping tool. 🤷‍♂️

    Will they ever fix this app failure to resize and position itself properly after taking a shot?

    It lands randomly anywhere with random sizes as well. 😒

    On my machine it seems to land where I positioned it last time, the size seems always the same.

    Still, often the size of the file is too big to paste here. 🤣🤣

    This one I had to save it and then take a snip of the saved picture, then it finally pasted it. 🤷‍♂️
