Snipping Tool issues with Build 25295

Split from this thread.

Sure did. Tried also repair and reset.

It didn't help.

Would be nice to be able to install older versions in cases like this.

Hi Sibro,

I solved the Snipping Tool problem by restoring 25284 and then upgrading to 25295 directly, skipping 25290.1000 and 25290.1010.

Snipping tool works fine now on the same machine that was failing when it went from 25290.1010 to 25295.1000.

Go figure!

What made me suspicious was that error on DCOM 25290.1010.

Probably a bug with the resolution again.

The issue I brough up has nothing to do with resolution or picture sizes.

I never see that message, my screenshots and animations are always within limits. I think we talked about this before and agreed that your 4K display at high resolutions is causing the captures to be too big. The forum limit is reasonable IMO.

Anyway, back to what I was talking about. This is how ST window supposed to behave. After taking the shot, the window resizes to acomodate the size of the pic, not randomly going off screen with random sizes.

That is the way it behaves on my machines public build.

But on dev the behavior is slightly different, it does not reopen automatically, I have to click on the taskbar icon again and then it reopens the same way, it is not repositioning randomly as in your case. It always opens in the same spot and with the same size. 🤷‍♂️

Again, your screen is not a standard size, and they have plenty of bugs for different resolutions.

Also, with your resolution I can paste without issues, because the size of the file is much smaller.

They screwed up so many things recently on Dev Builds. 🤣🤣🤐

At least on public build it gives the message if the size is too big to paste. 🤣😉

But if i save it and snip the resized picture, the size in this case is 5MB instead of 11MB. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I guess that is the way around the size limit.

The problem is that in Dev Builds it does not work the same way, there is no message and just keeps looping when trying to paste anything even much smaller than 5MB. 🤣🤣🤣

    Another inconsistency then.

You have problems I don't have and I have problems you don't have. 🤣

It was listed as a known issue, I just can't find the blog or wherever it was.

I'm not talking about picture sizes, I'm talking about the app's window.

Can't you see is off the screen with a random size?

My App window does not change at all, unless I change it. 🤷‍♂️

Slow down the answers, I get red message oops... 🤷‍♂️
