We hope you are enjoying the current build of Windows Technical Preview.  We promised you’ll get the latest build as soon as it’s available.  Today we’re rolling out the first update: Windows Technical Preview build 9860.

If you’re using the computer when the update downloads, you will be prompted to reboot after which you’ll see the “Installing your apps” screen, and then the new build will be ready to use.  If you leave your computer plugged in and on overnight, the update will be installed automatically.  Once installed, the build number displayed on the desktop will be 9860.

More information about build 9860 can be found here but some of the new features include:

  • New notifications through Action Center
  • Move apps to other monitors with new keyboard shortcut
  • Choose how quickly you receive new builds

Please keep letting us know what you think!  We are using your feedback to build Windows 10.

I'm running Windows 10 Technical Preview as a Windows To Go (USB Drive) but it says I cannot upgrade via USB...

Any chance of a work around to this problem.  Or is there a place to download just the latest update???

    [...] Not solved:

    To get the workgroup running.

I furthermore cannot "see" the other PC's in my WLAN.

    Sincerley yours, Manfred

    PS:

I detected that the video editing application MAGIX Video deluxe did not launch.

    Error Code -6.

    A "repair" installation may help....

No chance: The application had to be fully re-installed.

    _______________________Additional:

    Stopped working:

    • Microsoft Solitaire
    • Microsoft Mahjong

The application opens, shows it frame, waits some time and disappears without message.

    Best regards, Manfred
