Windows 11 Wifi Problem

I was hopeful but i tried this and the issue keeps reoccurring. Ive tried all the earlier stuff on your list also. Ive also tried changing the laptop name to no avail. It connects as soon as it reboots the network connection then drops it again and wont connect within 10 minutes. Happening in all houses and no other devices are having issues

I have had intermittent wifi outages since "upgrading" to Windows 11, at which time I did rename my device -- the name included dashes and numbers. After reading the above post, I renamed my device simply "PC". So far, no wifi glitches at all. I hope this holds true. So hard to believe a simple name change could cause all this wifi mess.

Ok, I had a similar situation. after upgrade to windows 11, pc works for a bit but after a couple of reboots it stopped connecting to the netwerk.

Connecting the pc to another physical network, works fine. Ethernet cable to other switch and router= no problem. So there is no hardware problem.

we encountered the same problem both on wireless adaptors and on physical nics (even dockingstation nics)

we tried loads of stuff, the solution is in the end, but to give an overview of what we tried:

• remove antivirus and disabled windows firewalls
• remove current driver (delete device with delete driver option enabled in device manager).
• install latest drivers
• netsh int ip reset (with reboot)
• netsh winsock reset (with reboot)
• setting fixed ip
• dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
• sfc /scannow (just to be sure windows 11 is ok).
• ...

so, to solve the issue, we changed the MAC address on the NIC. how?:

• do a ipconfig /all in dosprompt and write down the MAC address (for example 10-E7-C6-B4-35-43)
• open the properties of the nic in device manager.
• on the advanced tab find the network address, put in the MAC address you found, but change the last digit to another hexadecimal value (just add one, of if its F, then change it to 0) note that you remove the dashes '-' from the macaddres. (so, for this example, put in: 10E7C6B43544)
• make sure the value you put in is selected with the bullet list in front (doesn't auto change)

click ok to acknowledge the setting

check ipconfig /all again and try your internet connection.

I am having a similar wifi problem. It started in mid-December. When I go to a new webpage in Edge the wifi often will disconnect for a few seconds and then it reconnects. There is no disconnection outside of using Edge. Chrome doesn't disconnect the wifi. I am not sure if it is an Edge problem or a Windows 11 problem. In my case I have a laptop with a gen one i3-370 processor and no tpm. Except for the wifi disconnecting Windows 11 works just fine on my laptop.
