@Sibro,

The install.wim in the MS ISO is too big to fit on a FAT32, so I will have to convert it to install.esd. ��‍♂️

    I wonder what that does? 😎😎😎

    I'm in the process of creating a W11 VM to test this see what happens.

    Hi Sibro,

    I noticed a new Registry key while doing a clean install with 22579.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\WindowsUpdate

    It has a REG_DWORD named AllowWindowsUpdate with a value of 1.

    That key did not exist in previous Builds.

    I wonder what that does? 😎😎😎

    I don't have that key on this 22579 MS ISO clean install VM 🤷‍♂️

    I know, that key is only with third party ISO.

    On MS ISO I see only has 3 keys under setup, I'm looking before I start the installation,

    pressing Shift + F10 and regedit after it boots and install now, before going to the next step.

    Third party ISO 22579, extra key on Setup -> WindowsUpdate with a DWORD AllowWindowsUpdate set to 1.

    No idea what that does.

    Hi Sibro,

    In my case this issue with third party ISO, or the one built from SoftwareDistribution with the converter, is affecting the monthly Data Limit from the Service provider.

    Downloading the new builds once with W.U. and then building the ISO from SoftwareDistributiont to use on the other machines was preventing me from going over the data limit set by the service provider and getting overcharged for all these useless downloads.

    Now with this problem I have to download the same W.U. on every damn box, that may take me over the monthly data allowance and may have to pay extra for the GBs over the limit.

    This is really ridiculous.

    It almost looks like a secret agreement between MS and the internet service providers so that they can overcharge the users for the extra data that they will need to download.

    Same B.S. with the requirement of internet connection to do any update or install.

    Cheaters! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

    Hi fg,

    Why do you have to update every machine via Windows Update?

    Can't you just download the MS ISO once and update in-place until we get a fix?
