Xbox controller causes frame drop

Hello!

Sorry if my English is wrong.

I have installed the Windows Dev Insider Build and all games have frame drops to 0 when playing with Xbox controller.

When I unplug the controller (playing with keyboard and mouse), there is not a single frame drop. Not even need to restart the game or PC.

But, when I plug the controller and play with mouse and keyboard, there are also no frame drops.

I tested with pluged usb Xbox One controller and Xbox 360 controller with adapter on Steam and Microsoft Store games.

Every solution I found on the internet for this problem doesn't work.

Hard reseting Windows without keeping any files didn't solve as well.

I also noticed random inputs in game and in Windows when I stopped playing with controller, like something was holding down the down button and sometimes the shift button.

Appreciate any help, I have been testing for more than 5 days now and nothing worked.

Best regards,

Ian

    Hi Ian,

Just to be sure you have the latest Insider can you type winver in search and hit enter, post back the build, or snip so it looks like this, don't include your email.

I previous version on Insider they did have a hanging problem but was supposed to be fixed, your problem might be new so can you reproduce it using the recorder at the Feed Back Hub (win key + F) then post a link here so Eddie from MSFT can see and maybe help you.

Are all your drivers up to date, device manager no longer searches the internet for drivers so go to your manufacturer's web site for your hardware drivers and install the latest if you haven't already. Also check you have the latest bios for your computer.

If you have just installed Insider you have ten days to go back to the previous operating system.

Your English is fine by the way.

    Hi BryceSor.

    Thank you for your reply.

I also attached the down button bug that happens after I stop playing and disconnect the controller. This auto down scroll happens even if I disconnect the keyboard and mouse.

I updated some drivers and bios, and I think it helped a little. The frame drops are less frequent and less severe, but still very annoying.

I cannot go back to a stable build right now because I hard reseted Windows and WSL2 is also working alright.

    Best Regards,

    Ian
