Just to update you:
Copilot Issues
Split from this thread.
On April 6, 2024, I started getting this error message. It was working correctly on April 5 with the new undocked format, but not anymore. ๐ตโ๐ซ
Looks like they changed something that broke it. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
After the error, opening snipping tool to take a shot, crashes explorer.exe.

2024-04-11T23:11:08+00:00 Pinned = Side-by-side or 'docked'.
vs
Undocked/Overlay/as an AppYes, even, with that OFF, for me, it still opened at next Startup. And as whatever/whichever way it was last used.
I may have found a reason. Will take a wee bit of time to investigate; see if this makes a difference. Maybe, the setting below is On, by default, in 26100.1
Not that it should matter.
It is off on my machines; I'll check to see what happens if I turn it on. ๐
Edit:
Yes, that setting is the cause of the different behavior. I never had that option on. ๐๐

2024-04-12T00:38:58+00:00 Yes, it is. Started, Copilot opened. Shut that setting OFF, the taskbar icon OFF, Closed (X) Copilot. So, same as before except for the setting toggled OFF. Restarted...
NO Copilotโ ๐๐๐๐
(I'm sure I must have had it On for a reason ๐คฃ๐ค๐คทโโ๏ธ) It's On in Win11 GA, where the issue doesn't exist, (yet? ๐คจ).
Yes, the difference explained. I'm not always as dumb as some people look ๐๐
And now we really DO know how to have choice about Copilot opening at Start(up)

Not a great choice. ๐คฃ๐ตโ๐ซ
They should just put back the option they had before in Personalization. Why did they hide it? Why so many complications? ๐
The option was one of those experimental features that they try in A/B testing. Now they disabled the id with priority 15 so that it cannot even be enabled again. ๐ตโ๐ซ๐๐คฌ

2024-04-12T01:30:40+00:00 Certainly, I cannot answer that.
I have just proven something further to this... I tried it with the setting OFF
But, this time, the Copilot icon On.
Copilot auto-opened with Restart.
Summary: Both of the above must be OFF to prevent Copilot auto-opening @ Startup.
Cheers,
