Split from this thread.

On April 6, 2024, I started getting this error message. It was working correctly on April 5 with the new undocked format, but not anymore. 😵‍💫

Looks like they changed something that broke it. 🤷‍♂️

After the error, opening snipping tool to take a shot, crashes explorer.exe.

You're right... that is somewhere between weird & interesting.

Always noticeable the variations across machines, machine types, within the OS/browser, install types, persons, locations, time zones, borders 🤷‍♂️

Now seen on 2 machines that seem to run correctly, with this build 26100 on Canary, Copilot opens automatically on startup and the option to turn that off is no longer available on personalization. 😂😎🤷‍♂️

This option is no longer on the menu. 😎 😵‍💫

Yes, when things (decide to) open on this vm sometimes is a matter of patience. But, yes, now that I think about it, guess it did open automatically (or by itself 😂😉) And, true enough, it is not in (any) Startup lists; Apps nor Task Mgr. I imagine it's common knowledge, by now, that it cannot be UNinstalled, either; that being greyed out.

I discovered, not sure what made me look again, brightness maybe 😎, Anyway, lo & behold the Dark web contents flag is/was available, again 😲 Glad to be rid of Light pages in the IB, again 👍👍😊

Did I show you this 👇, already? It's from 26100. In the Edge (Dev Stable) Copilot has no Add a File, but its icons have moved. In Windows Copilot the icons have not moved, but it has Add a File. And the Character count is, still, 2 & 4k. 11 GA Copilot is 4 & 8k, now. Somehow I would have thought it would be the other way around with Canary IB being more advanced than GA/23H2.
Especially, now, whilst Canary is, supposedly, 24H2.

Ok, I went & checked this, again. Since, it seemed Copilot had opened itself, I wanted to dbl check to confirm. So...
I had Copilot pinned/docked and Closed (X) it. Restarted the OS. And, yes, sure enough there it came without my asking for it, in any way.
    Next...
I had Copilot unpinned/undocked/as an App and Closed (X) that. Restarted the OS. And, yes, it re-appeared, as such, with no help from me.

Indeed, Copilot is opening 'automatically' and that cannot be disabled. (I don't like that 😦👎)

Also true, it is in no Startup lists & Uninstall is not available (Greyed).

Side note: There is a suggested 'trick' or tool for removing Copilot. That no longer works, now, either. MS has blocked it.

Oh, I did notice whilst looking at the above... Now, in 26100.1 Windows Copilot's character count has the increase to 4 & 8k from 2 & 4; now it is the same as Win11 GA.
