Split from this thread.

On April 6, 2024, I started getting this error message. It was working correctly on April 5 with the new undocked format, but not anymore. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Looks like they changed something that broke it. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

After the error, opening snipping tool to take a shot, crashes explorer.exe.

So many different ways to get the same B.S. A.I.

I think they are pushing it down the users' throats even if they don't want it. 🀣🀣

Good point... Sure, that works πŸ‘πŸ‘ Geeez, I, should've thought of that myself πŸ’‘ πŸ™„... of course, it is actually OFF if & when that icon isn't there. It's the same as telling it not to show the icon in Edge which, actually, shuts Copilot off within Edge.

Anyway, cool discovery πŸ‘which, indeed, will not have it opening @ Start. AND, as you say, no harm/no foul since still have Win+C... Can, certainly be User-opened whenever, anytime one, actually, wants Windows Copilot. Plus, one still has Copilot within Edge via Flyout/sidebar or Web.

The only workaround, for now, to prevent Copilot from starting automatically is by turning it off here.
But that gets rid also of the icon in the taskbar. 😜

Still, I can use this shortcut to open copilot when I want it. πŸ˜‰

If I turn it back on in taskbar it also opens automatically on startup.Β πŸ˜‚

Constant changes not only just with Copilot or in IBs.

Remember the Dark flag was suddenly gone in the IB. Then, recently it's back. While it was gone, some pages were Light. It (the Flag), also, was suddenly gone in Win11 GA. BUT while it was gone there everything was, still, Dark. Then, suddenly, yesterday some pages were Light 😲... Lo & behold the Flag was back & I have to Enable it, again.

    Quite bizarre, really.
