Sync issue in Mail app

Windows Insider Dev build 22449.1000. The Mail app is failing to download any messages with the error code 0x80090001. I have tried deleting the email account and entering it again but still the same result. Wi-Fi connection is functioning normally and email via the web browser functions normally.

UPDATE

Now installed new Dev build 22454.1000. The app still does not sync but now no longer shows an error message.

I have tried adding the email account using advanced settings but still no luck.

The same email account works fine on my other computers running both windows 10 and windows 11

    @sibro.o,

    When I added the same account on MS Mail with Build 22000.282 it showed up with these questions and the mail worked fine with Windows 11 Public Build. You can see I got emails in the Inbox in this case.

    The problem is only with Development Windows 11 Build.

    I deleted the Yahoo account on development and added back, I got the same conditions to agree and accepted, but still did not get anything in the Inbox.

    Build 22000.282, Yahoo Inbox looks fine:

    Same Yahoo account on Dev 22489.1000 shows nothing in the Inbox:

    Same problem with MS Mail after a clean install of Build 22489.1000.

    Get this message from Yahoo every time I add the account either on Public Build or Development Build.

    Only Dev Build has the problem receiving the email with MS Mail.

    Build 494, still same issue with this Dev build, Mail app won't sync with any of my IMAP accounts. This issue/bug has never even been listed on the Blog post under known issues.

    Can you open Mail then go to Settings > Help > Client Session ID and give me the number after the colon?

    Yes, that's the number I'm looking for. Here's a workaround you can try while folks here are looking into it. NOTE: This will only restore Yahoo Mail sync, and NOT calendar or contacts.

    1. Remove your existing Yahoo account.
    2. Re-add the Yahoo account and use "Other account, POP, IMAP"
    3. Generate an app password for the password Generate and manage third-party app passwords | Yahoo Help - SLN15241

    I know this isn't the ideal situation, but should restore email sync for the time being.
