Sync issue in Mail app

Windows Insider Dev build 22449.1000. The Mail app is failing to download any messages with the error code 0x80090001. I have tried deleting the email account and entering it again but still the same result. Wi-Fi connection is functioning normally and email via the web browser functions normally.

UPDATE

Now installed new Dev build 22454.1000. The app still does not sync but now no longer shows an error message.

I have tried adding the email account using advanced settings but still no luck.

The same email account works fine on my other computers running both windows 10 and windows 11

    I think I recreated the problem just adding a Yahoo email account in MS Mail, it just does not retrieve any email.

    Gmail retrieves mail just fine for me in MS Mail Version 16005.14326.20544.0 build 22489

    I don't have a Yahoo account to try

    With Gmail it worked for me too, but when I added the account it asked for a permission to let windows handle Gmail. They showed 3 different things to accept.

    Yahoo doesn't have that?

    I have not seen anything when I added the yahoo account.

    Edit:

    Maybe I just missed it, because I got the questions to agree when I deleted and added the account again.

    Anyway, there are many service providers including AT&T and Frontier communications that use Yahoo mail, that could explain why they have the problems with other email servers ?

    Version 16005.14326.20544.0

    So that's the latest version, still wont sync to any of my IMAP accounts.

    Rolled back to Win 10 19044.1320 and added my IMAP and works just fine in the Mail app.

    So it appears that it's an issue just with the Dev Builds. The last Beta build I installed it worked fine.

    I added the same account in Build 19043.1320 and it works fine and retrieves all the email from the yahoo mail server, but not on Development build 22489.1000.

    The email from outlook is the only one working.

    Nothing from Yahoo with Build 22489.1000:

    It is comforting that this is an easily replicated problem. Not so comforting that it has gone on so long
