I can't add a phone number to my microsoft account on microsoft rewards.

I clicked "add phone number" on manage how to sign in with microsoft. I then added my phone number and recieved no text. I resent the code and yet recieved no text. I restarted my phone, reset the wifi and looked at other articles with people having this problem. Nothing helped. Please don't send me the microsoft help page on this issue because that hasn't fixed the problem.

    I suggest you try adding the phone number again by following the steps below:

    1. Sign in to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, see Microsoft account help for more info.
    2. Select Add emailor Add phone number.
    3. Follow the instructions to add a new email address or phone number to your Microsoft account aliases.

    I recommend that you visit the above link in your phone's browser (using cellular, not WiFi) to add a phone number, which theoretically excludes other distractions and allows the same ISP (Internet Service Provider) to minimize latency.

    I receive the text message and when I enter the code, Microsoft again asks me for my password to verify. Once I add my password, I get a message saying I can't add this alias. How do I get my number on my profile?

    You can add your phone number to your Microsoft account by the steps below, instead of the steps from Microsoft Rewards.

    1. Sign in to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft. If you’re having issues signing in to your Microsoft account, see Microsoft account help for more info.
    2. Select Add emailor Add phone number.
    3. Follow the instructions to add a new email address or phone number to your Microsoft account aliases.
    If you are operating on a Windows system, you can optimize your connection to Microsoft servers by following the steps below. "Win" logo key + "Q" to open the search box, type 'ncpa.cpl', press Enter to open the "Network Connections" window, select your network adapter, right-click it > "Properties", double-click "Internet Protocol Version (TCP/IP)", then check “Use the following DNS server address", and*****type* "4.2.2.1" in "Preferred DNS server", and type "4.2.2.2" in "Alternate DNS server", then press OK*.*<br><br><br><br>If your other network applications fail to work properly (unable to load or slow connection) due to the above changes, you can set it to "Obtain DNS server address automatically" after the problem is fixed.

    Additionally, recently due to server network issues, the service may be abnormal in some countries and regions, you may need to wait for a while and try again. Microsoft has received several similar feedback recently, and we are working on it.

    I have tried all the suggestions here.. tried on my phone still does not work.. Can not add my phone number no mater what I try.. even tried usind a friends phone number that is not associated with my account
