I clicked "add phone number" on manage how to sign in with microsoft. I then added my phone number and recieved no text. I resent the code and yet recieved no text. I restarted my phone, reset the wifi and looked at other articles with people having this problem. Nothing helped. Please don't send me the microsoft help page on this issue because that hasn't fixed the problem.

it's also funny how Microsoft put their fault on customers.

I try not with one mobile but two mobile and month have different sim cards on different networks How can you justify this?

I waited 5 months to redeem this reward and I see it a fraud from Microsoft

resolve this issue now or I will sue you

    Hi Laiba

    • In the text-message app on your phone, look for a "junk" or "spam" folder and check it's not gone in there

    • If you have a "dual-SIM" phone, make sure you're looking on the correct SIM

    • If you've moved from an iPhone to an Android, see: https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage

    • If you have a divert set on your phone, cancel it so you get texts and calls on your current one

If none of that helps, contact the network your phone uses and ask if they are blocking the codes

It's honestly so funny how every reply on this thread does nothing to fix this situation. This is clearly an issue on Microsoft's end. Let's be clear, we receive the code! WE RECEIVE THE CODE ON THE PHONE. So no, it is not in "Junk" or "Spam". There is no "dual-SIM." We haven't moved from an iPhone to an android. We do not have a divert set on our phone.

It seems only NellNellNeell realizes the real problem. It's a Microsoft issue they will not address.

The funniest thing about this issue is that, personally, I need to enter an phone number alias to approve my redemption of an Amazon Gift Card, but when I use points to redeem some stupid sweepstakes Microsoft is offering, interestingly I don't need to enter an alias to confirm? Hmmmm.... can throw away my points for free at a sweepstake but can't use my points for anything I really want.

Since there are so many different threads about the same issue the logical thing would be to fix your form.

I sat on support with Microsoft for an hour, that rep seemed to think that you could select an alias to apply the phone number to and you can't. If that is a requirement to apply an alias to the new phone number just add a drop down or some means for the user to apply it. He kept having me go back over and send his screenshots. I would assume that all these errors should be recorded in your own logs for your dev team to review.

It very much seems, like with many companies, that support has no means to resolve the issue when it isn't user based BUT rather than acknowledge that and contact dev to fix the issue they just cycle back.

The rewards program not applying a phone number to an alias is not a user issue but a programming fail.

Sincerely, a former web developer. :)
