As noted in other questions on this topic, the terms of use for Microsoft services capable of AI image generation appear to have changed in late 2023/early 2024 from a clear "non-commercial use only" policy to an ambiguous "Microsoft does not claim ownership of creations" one, with no mention of how those creations can be legally used.
Can an advisor please clarify the current (end of Jan 2024) restrictions on use of AI-generated images from Microsoft services such as Copilot, Bing AI and "Image Creator from Designer", as well as any requirements for attribution/watermarks to enable unrestricted commercial use?

Yes, A User2’s response is the correct one. I would just add, your legal counsel might say the steps A User2 recommended you take do not provide sufficient assurance. And if so, you have your answer—you cannot use them. If you need a high level of assurance, hire an artist or designer to create them (and make sure your contract specifies how AI can or cannot be used in the artwork).

Ok, thanks, but how it can be used by designer? This is the point! Some publishers have their books ready to publish but they couldn't be able to do it because of this unclear permit! I couldn't find any clear respond from Microsoft in anywhere unless some phone numbers could be found which they present themselves as the Microsoft representative and push the caller to buy their package as soon as possible! Thanks
If Microsoft can't tell you their rules, then legal counsel can't either, so their standard response in that case is , "No, you can't. Don't do it." Don't waste your money on the legal counsel.
