I cleared cache, reset default, updated, on/off, log in/out, points not showing up 24-hrs later, no response from Microsoft Support for 10+ days after multiple attempts. Microsoft Support recognize(d) first ticket but won't respond to first ticket. Given the above information, what is the best way to solve this puzzle? A 365 Subscriber and Outlook user for decades. No X-Box.

I found that since Microsoft have adjusted the reward point bonuses, that I am on my Xbox and gaming alot less. The fifty point achievement reward was an added incentive to play daily even getting 100% of achievements in games I would not have tried in game pass if it was not for the reward bonus. Instead of removing or reducing the points that can be earned, it would of been better just to increase the redeem value of rewards,
Years ago it would do this every three months or so, for either a few days, or a week, but it would get fixed. Ever since Microsoft nerfed the amount of points participants could get from Microsoft Rewards and randomly banning legitimate accounts for no reason, the search function also got an overhaul. It is intended that people using the search function for points could only do so after about six seconds pass by, which did work for about a week. However, now no points (at least for me), can be earned. Does not matter what I search, doesn't matter how much time passes between searches, it just doesn't work, and it seems like Microsoft has no desire to make it work again.
My thoughts are, rather than just cancel the Microsoft Rewards program, they decided to make it function so poorly and reward points so meagerly that people will just want to stop using it altogether. Which is so bizarre to me, as most people using Mi.Re. wouldn't normally use Bing or Edge because it's subpar. I know they have to cut costs (part of which being all those layoffs), but actively making the general population not want to use their products seems like a poor business move.
As far as for a fix, nothing you can do on your end will work.
It seems like Microsoft is way scaling back he potential rewards points.
Over the last few months:
- No more 100 point weekly xbox treasures
- Xbox monthly quest went from 2500 to 1000 points
- Xbox achievements went from 50 to 5 points
- No more edge bonus use of 20 points
- Puzzle? gone its seems
- This is a killer - it seems you need to open a new search tab in order to accumulate 5 points per search to get to 150 - it stops tabulating after one or two searches in same window / tab
- and a few others, I'm sure
Probably a drop in the proverbial budget bucket to give out all these rewards and its usefulness to get folks using xbox / edge / etc is reaching an end...?
Microsoft is notorious for simply ending things without notice - windows phone - microsoft band - surface duo - I'm used to it (owned all of those) but this little perk of rewards points going away? Might be switching to Chrome out of spite
I thought maybe it was my VPN of the Bing search page blocking my 150 per day and turned that off for a couple of days. No change, still only averaging 20 of the 150 per day. Today I have earned 40 before it stopped, see image below. I should have earned 10 in mobile but those are not showing up in count. I turned VPN back on as that was not the answer. I see in the string that there many impacts to earning MS Rewards points affecting users. I am wondering if it is MS simply trimming back on the points because of some modeling decision on their part or if it is some of the other companies offering actual rewards letting Microsoft know they may pull their offers as current redemptions are eating into their bottom line.
I am not sure we will ever know exactly, but it would be responsible of MS to notify us of point earning changes so we are not left guessing if it is us, our system or some nefarious scheme by MS causing unannounced changes.
Same here. I cannot get points for desktop or mobile search. Absolutely disgusted. If it is not rectified, I will give up Bing. There is no point or incentive to continue to use it.
