The chat history of Copilot has disappeared.

NOTE: Non-Admin users of the Copilot version with commercial data protection do NOT get chat history / conversation history / topic history.

Your admin can change this, but they probably selected to have the data protection because of company policy and/or liability protection.

For these cases, I recommend downloading the individual responses that were helpful; unfortunately, you cannot

download a whole thread at once. A workaround is to press ctrl +A to select all, then copy/paste into a doc if you don't care about formatting.

What does the Chat History Icon look like? Don't see it when I open the free version of co-pilot.

For personal accounts:

On a desktop computer browser, it will be in the right side-panel, about halfway down the page (no icon needed).

If you are not signed it, you will not see history (at least I did not when I tried in a private browsing window).

On mobile; in the Copilot App, you click the 3 horizontal lines (“hamburger icon”) in the top left, and it will show previous chats about halfway down the screen.

If you are not signed it, I do not think you will see history.

For business accounts:

Certain security things your company puts in place prevents you from being able to have history. You can’t change this in settings either. Others have addressed this in their comments.

I recommend downloading or copy/pasting into a word doc once you get an answer you like.

I see. You may follow these steps to view your chat history:

Open Copilot > Click on the Chat history button at the top of the Copilot side pane >
Click on the chat you wish to go back to under the "Recent activity"
