How can I disable Copilot in Bing search engine?

The most annoying feature by Microsoft on a miniature scale when using mobile devices.

Scrolling through search results when using Bing search engine on mobile devices automatically switches over to the Copilot tab. There should be a switch in Search Settings (attached pictures) to disable Copilot in all search results.

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to disable Copilot in Bing's search engine settings, as it's integrated into the browsing experience. We're all users here, and Microsoft employees don't often visit the community, you can provide direct feedback to the Bing team by using the Feedback option at the bottom of the search results page.

In the meantime, I recommend downloading the Microsoft Edge app or the Bing app, as this feature isn't present in those platforms. I understand how frustrating this can be, and I hope this workaround helps improve your search experience.

Just a quick update:

The Microsoft Bing team has added a feature to disable the function that opens Copilot/Bing chat when scrolling down or attempting to refresh the page.

You can disable this feature by clicking on the Menu icon (≡) and toggling off "Scroll to open Copilot".

    For example, when I used to copy / paste a USPS tracking number into the search bar, BING just tracked the number.

    Now it opens the number in copilot, and aksk me to start a discussion about the number.

    It just does it.

    I have deactivate CP according to every method I could find, and it will not go away.

    I could search the search bar (with Bing as the default search engine) and copilot would start an entire dissertation. No interaction with the icon at all. At least that what was happening when I abandoned Bing.

    If so, this is a *very* new change, likely in response to customer outrage. This was not the case when this question was posted a very short time ago, and I'd already switched search engines. Posting as if this has always been the case, if true, is misleading on your part.
