How can I disable Copilot in Bing search engine?

The most annoying feature by Microsoft on a miniature scale when using mobile devices.

Scrolling through search results when using Bing search engine on mobile devices automatically switches over to the Copilot tab. There should be a switch in Search Settings (attached pictures) to disable Copilot in all search results.

Bing | Search | Share and social search results

Hi there, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to disable Copilot in Bing's search engine settings, as it's integrated into the browsing experience. We're all users here, and Microsoft employees don't often visit the community, you can provide direct feedback to the Bing team by using the Feedback option at the bottom of the search results page.

In the meantime, I recommend downloading the Microsoft Edge app or the Bing app, as this feature isn't present in those platforms. I understand how frustrating this can be, and I hope this workaround helps improve your search experience.

Should you need any further information, please let me know.

John J.D.

Just a quick update:

The Microsoft Bing team has added a feature to disable the function that opens Copilot/Bing chat when scrolling down or attempting to refresh the page.

You can disable this feature by clicking on the Menu icon (≡) and toggling off "Scroll to open Copilot".

Our feedback has been heard. Congratulations!

John J.D.

There is no such need felt. Nothing is forced down anyone's throat.

Some will like things, all will not.

Yes, I experimented a wee bit. Was fun at the time. Be better, it seems, had I not bothered.

Fact remains, one can, still, do simple searches via Bing without encountering Copilot; done all the time since long ago including, by myself, recently. Except for, maybe, tracking #s.

    Cheers,

Yes, tracking # alone had Copilot saying, 🤷‍♂️.

All I had to do was put UPS in front of the tracking # and went to a plain ole regular Bing search; no Copilot.

    Cheers,
    Drew

    Cheryl,

I cannot reproduce what you describe. So... Please, tell & or show me what you are entering, where & how.

As I said, I cannot make what you describe happen. If & when I do a plain ole regular search Copilot does not come into play. I have to, actually, specifically use Copilot, initially, for it to be involved.

I'm keen to help you. Please, provide the requested details. Snips would be very enlightening, if you would do that, too.

    Cheers,
    Drew![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/71b3f822-9dd5-4507-b616-77eab253a3e0?platform=QnA

    DO have choice.

There is no need or reason to "get rid of it"... just don't use it, don't > it, don't click on tab or icon for it.

If you are open-minded enough you learn all about the multiple talents & abilities Copilot has... much of is besides & beyond any search engine basics. There are heaps of things you can, create... it's just cool, all sorts of areas where it's a whiz. And it's full of options/choices including its use, at all or not. Anyway, if you want, discover it **** HERE.

And there is more interesting info HERE.

It's brilliant what it can do, offer, great time-saving.
    Can be personalised.
Much more than search... can help with heaps of things (for you/with you) and create such cool stuff expressing your ideas... and it goes on & on. It's quick, powerful, useful, great to have handy.

NB: You need not spend any time nor attention on the Copilot Pro or higher parts. Free, only. 1st column.

    Cheers,
