How can I disable Copilot in Bing search engine?

The most annoying feature by Microsoft on a miniature scale when using mobile devices.

Scrolling through search results when using Bing search engine on mobile devices automatically switches over to the Copilot tab. There should be a switch in Search Settings (attached pictures) to disable Copilot in all search results.

Hi there, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to disable Copilot in Bing's search engine settings, as it's integrated into the browsing experience. We're all users here, and Microsoft employees don't often visit the community, you can provide direct feedback to the Bing team by using the Feedback option at the bottom of the search results page.

In the meantime, I recommend downloading the Microsoft Edge app or the Bing app, as this feature isn't present in those platforms. I understand how frustrating this can be, and I hope this workaround helps improve your search experience.

Should you need any further information, please let me know.

John J.D.

Just a quick update:

The Microsoft Bing team has added a feature to disable the function that opens Copilot/Bing chat when scrolling down or attempting to refresh the page.

You can disable this feature by clicking on the Menu icon (≡) and toggling off "Scroll to open Copilot".

Our feedback has been heard. Congratulations!

John J.D.

"Plus, it was hard not to notice you are not showing what you got in return just that you can type into search bars"

Yes, I did. In the link in THIS❗ Apparently, you never clicked on those which, in every case, > the same Bing search page.

    Ok, this is not correct.

1st, if & when I search (with Bing) nothing ever "automatically switches to Copilot".

2nd, "The only way not to trigger it is to search from the URL bar"

Let's put something in somewhere else besides the address/search bar

NM the stuff below the box, just hit Enter and it > THIS.

Hit Open Results in browser > THIS.

No search > Copilot if & when it is not used. Otherwise > Bing. Nor does it "automatically" switch anything to Copilot. And all the same no matter what search (box) is used.

The suggestion is to hit Enter after entering the query/keywords/phase AND not hitting Copilot nor anything below it. Never mind Copilot, don't bother with it. Don't search via Copilot. In a search box put whatever & hit Enter; will go to a Bing results page.
