Why is Microsoft Rewards limiting how much I can earn?

I've been doing microsoft rewards for around 2 years and I've gotten consistent points, but since last month Microsoft has been slowly degrading how many points I can get.

For example, they've been only giving 1 POINT now for each task I do instead of 10 points, basically no monthly punch cards, and they just deleted my edge search points.

Is this on purpose to limit how many points older accounts with more points can get?

(I dont want a "Thank you for your opinion, we are going to look into this issue" robot response please)

You don’t actually have to do it for 1000 days in order to redeem anything! Make sure you’re completing every task, like searching, reading news, daily tasks, etc. and it’ll rack up to be enough for numerous gift cards.

Also, Microsoft implemented this new rewards system so everyone can only earn 1 or 2 points from the other activities, it’s not a glitch. Hopefully that helped ;)

Thank you. Yes, disappointing and I downloaded Vivaldi browser last night. Much better experience without the bloat ads and silly trending articles. A much more wholesome experience without the AI.

Typical Microsoft behavior. Redeem too much, and they make it harder to redeem. They literally penalize you for using their rewards program. At least they're not kicking people out left and right like last time. At least, not yet.

See the problem is, semantics. You can earn X amount. You won't, but you can. In theory.
