Why is Microsoft Rewards limiting how much I can earn?

I've been doing microsoft rewards for around 2 years and I've gotten consistent points, but since last month Microsoft has been slowly degrading how many points I can get.

For example, they've been only giving 1 POINT now for each task I do instead of 10 points, basically no monthly punch cards, and they just deleted my edge search points.

Is this on purpose to limit how many points older accounts with more points can get?

(I dont want a "Thank you for your opinion, we are going to look into this issue" robot response please)

Microsoft wants you to pause 5or6 seconds between searches yet that doesnt work all the time. I was using points for gamepass ultimate with tax is $18.01 a month which is ridiculous for the **** games you get. Now you cant just get xbox gold for a year just to play online games. Im middle aged dont have time get achievements every other day to get the 1000 point award a month. If they would change it to 15 a month not limiting 1 a day that may be do able 10 a month would be easier or come up with another way to earn such as doing reviews of merchandise or playing a amount a of time on specific games like 15 minutes a day or 2 or 3 hours a month were i can do weekends. Missing the edge search and still not getting allot of mobile searches or pc searches also, it just doesnt pick up when i do it.

Yeah, the point reduction is killing my drive to collect the points in the first place. I noticed last month (mid December) the points were reduced, and now in the last few days, what used to be 10-15 activities with points has dropped to just the 3 main activities with 1-2 more activities. Everything else is just "redeem points" "enter giveaways" "show us your receipts". Which I might add, giveaways are such a scam. 1000 points for 1 entry. Not at the rate we're gaining them, I DEFINITELY wont be entering them. Also weird how it wants to track our spending habits with receipts.

You're not alone, I've been using microsoft rewards for 2 years too and they're slowly decreasing the amount of points you can get for each task and removing some features.

Absolutely. It's unsustainable to give out as much money if they never decreased the points amount. $60 CAD/year for me to use their product RIGHT NOW isn't the worst deal. If all 1.2 billion users earned the same to the fullest extent and earned the same $ as me, then it'd cost them 1/3 of the entire companies total yearly revenue, and about 70-80% of their profit. I don't know any other engines or browsers that give out as much money. I've been using Brave+presearch for 2 years or so and the total value of the crypto I've earned is equal to about $60 CAD too.

It's just not sustainable to give hundreds of dollars per customer out per year. We start getting into the trillions of dollars over a decade of use if they kept the point earnings up to how much they used to give out. The early users were simply quite handsomely paid, and so for people like me who just started using it....their current payout seems pretty fair, and I'm surprised by how much they used to give to users - WAY above market rate at that.
