"There is an issue with your account or order."

I have been using Microsoft Rewards for about a year now, and the first time I ever redeemed anything was 7/6/2022. Ever since then, I have been able to redeem rewards properly, and do what I want with my points. At 3/12/2023, this story changed. I went to redeem about 1,500 points, so I clicked what I wanted, entered my phone number, pressed send, and was hit with a white screen that said, "There is an issue with your account or order." Now, I know for a fact there's no issues with my account. So, I tried it again. Same page. I tried it again repeatedly, then decided I was going to contact microsoft. I emailed three times, now four, I have searched this issue up various times, cleared my cache, reset my computer, done about everything on the list. I've tried it on my phone, my iPad, I've tried it on other phones, no avail. I am convinced it was my account, and I really wanted to just make a new account.. But I can't transfer points. Today I finally reached my goal of 6,000 points, and I once again went to redeem and it didn't work. This issue seems to have no resolve, and nobody at microsoft seems to want to email me back. There's no fix as far as I know, and I'm ready to give up. The other day, I uninstalled the browser extension and reinstalled hoping that'd fix it and it didn't. So far I have found no solution, nothing even slightly working. Every time I even remotely managed to put in the order, it cancelled itself. Nobody at Microsoft is listening to my 4 emails, I've checked every folder in search of a response but to no avail. I wanted to try the hotlines, but I could not find a certain product. I tried to import an image, but appears that doesn't wanna work either. Someone from Microsoft Rewards Support, I'd appreciate if you could contact me. I've tried to be patient, but it appears it doesn't want to work any day.

Update, 3/16/23: Still not working. I'll keep updating, though.

Update, 3/28/23: Not working.

In my case it didn't even ask for a phone number. I just clicked redeem and it would instantly give that generic error. And the support would every time reply with different reasons, as if there was no real reason (and there wasn't, I just use search and do my tasks daily). First time they told me I used a voip number (I didn't even know what voip was, I use a normal mobile operator), the second time they told me I used different markets, even though I literally use the exact same stationary computer to earn points. The third time they just linked a generic help article with possible reasons. I stopped my daily tasks, they treated us like criminals.

I had the same issue with point redemption last March 2023, and took Su's advice by using a different phone number. That worked, and I was able to redeem my gift card. I have redeemed several gift cards in exchange for Microsoft reward points in the time since with ease and success. The security codes were promptly sent to my email address for me to then obtain the redemption code. A couple days ago, having accumulated enough points for another gift card, I attempted to redeem. However, I received the same message that I received in March: "There’s an issue with your account or order. Please contact Microsoft Rewards customer support for assistance." I also received this message: "This redemption method is not working right now." I assumed it was referring to the phone redemption method, which is what the system defaulted to. I removed my phone number from my account to get the system to send the security code to my email, but that did not work, and there was no way to change the redemption method. Like everyone else, I cleared the cache; re-installed the Bing app; rebooted and restarted my computer several times; and resynced my data to Microsoft servers, all to no avail. This is not a scam. I sent several requests, and Microsoft responded promptly each time. Most of the time, they had some nonsensical reply and closed my service request. Yesterday, I utilized Microsoft's on-line chat feature, and the technician said there was a problem with Microsoft servers and suggested I try again in 24 hours. The problem persisted a day later. Thankfully, I found a very thoughtful email from Microsoft today that requested I do reply to their email with diagnostics and screenshots. This was a pleasant surprise, since they usually say not to reply. I sent them a lengthy email with diagnostics information and screenshots. My hope is that, with the immense volume of the same problem people are having, Microsoft is getting serious about resolving it. I do think Microsoft techs are working hard at responding to us, but they get busy with only so many people to deal with requests from all over the world. Microsoft is worthy of our patience from demonstrated assistance they have provided thus far.

Had this same issue. Tried to redeem got this error: "There’s an issue with your account or order Please contact Microsoft Rewards customer support for assistance."I used the link to contact customer support and got the following message with a grammatical error (some e-mail provider? should be providers plural):

    "Thank you!

    Your request was submitted.

    Support request number: 7028893309

We will provide you updates about your request via e-mail.

Note: Some e-mail provider may move the message to junk folder.

Rewards dashboard" Makes me suspicious that it is a scam not really Microsoft.
