I have the same issue I listen every day on the way to work and the sound will disappear at least 3 to 5 times in 30 minutes. Then when at work I use surface buds and the sound just disappears no matter if I am on a call or listening to music. Usually if I unlock my phone and change the song or station the music will come back for a while then go out again very frustrating. The Bluetooth says the buds are still connected, reconnecting the surface buds doesn’t help the problem.
Surface Duo 2 Bluetooth Issues
When connected to a Bluetooth audio device like my car or Surface Ear Buds I have the following problem:
Connects properly without issues. Listen to music or Audible for a few minutes and the audio stops. The audio doesn't pause, the Bluetooth doesn't disconnect but the sound just stops.
Disconnecting Bluetooth in audio device and surfaceduo2 and restarting helps but the problem will repeat. Makes BT unusable.
Anyone else have this problem??

2022-01-05T17:01:45+00:00 Best Buy did replace the device since it was in the two weeks return window. I guess if it was outside of that window, it would have been MSFT's warranty that replaced it.
The new device has the SAME PROBLEM!!! I opened another support ticket with MSFT, and they suggested I wait for a January update which hopefully resolves the problem.
I'm getting the Bluetooth audio cut out problem as well as random pausing of whatever I'm listening to. Mostly Amazon Music... Very odd.
I also have some interference problems when my Duo is connected to Your Phone and Bluetooth on my PC. It will make my mouse unresponsive... if I turn off Duo's Bluetooth the mouse works fine. Sounds like a different issue and may have even been this way with my original Duo v1.

2022-01-05T17:03:04+00:00 I find Disconnect Reconnect on the Bluetooth device settings on Duo will allow them to reconnect properly... but it's very inconsistent when the audio cuts out. Seems to get worse over time. HUGELY FRUSTRATING since the other issues from Duo v1 to v2 seems to have been resolved pretty nicely.

2022-01-11T19:07:39+00:00 Edit: Do any of you have a Samsung Watch? I just put that in Airplane mode and did a test and got no drops in audio, def weird.
Edit 2: Short lived left watch off, disconnected earphones and did not use for about 20 min, turned on earphones only no watch and had no audio right away ;-(
Glad I am not alone... Just upgraded at Best Buy and just started noticing this when pairing my headphones. Never had this issue on SD1, So far I have confirmed this with with my SoundPeats Air2+ and my Apple AirPods... seems to happen with HD Audio on or off... APTX on SP and AAC on AP.
Whats weird is I dont think I have this issue on my car, and I also just paired to a powered BT Speaker and have not had any drops yet.
If I disconnect and play on phone then connect BT again it picks up for a few seconds then goes dead air again...very frustrating. This is all with the phone open and not locked or closed which is also odd.

2022-01-11T20:05:25+00:00 It's all very strange and frustrating. I also never had issues on SD1. I'm finding it doesn't disconnect much from my Sonos Roam speaker but it does cut out in the car and with my Surface buds. Really annoying. Someone from MSFT did reach out to me via this thread so they are definitely working on the problem. Hopefully an update soon!!!
