Surface Duo 2 Bluetooth Issues

When connected to a Bluetooth audio device like my car or Surface Ear Buds I have the following problem:

Connects properly without issues. Listen to music or Audible for a few minutes and the audio stops. The audio doesn't pause, the Bluetooth doesn't disconnect but the sound just stops.

Disconnecting Bluetooth in audio device and surfaceduo2 and restarting helps but the problem will repeat. Makes BT unusable.

Anyone else have this problem??

Surface | Surface Duo | Sound and camera

Maybe I am missing something here but the only messaging app I have is blue icon called messages and I have so many of these same Bluetooth issues that I was ready get rid of the phone the surface buds and anything else microsoft I own. It has caused me to almost crash multiple times. Is the blue app the one you guys have been talking about fixing your issue? I looked in the Google store for message+ I find nothing no such app. I too have a case open with Microsoft and much frustration with this problem which I have posted many times any help would appreciated

If you search the Google Play store for Verizon Messages you'll see the red icon app. Once installed, it's called Messages+ on your device. A previous post by someone else stated uninstalling Messages+ fixed their Bluetooth issues. I uninstalled it on my Duo2 and now my Bluetooth no long disconnects. Microsoft engineering is looking into this issue.

Secondly in this thread, we started complaining about MMS messages with images come in blurry if you're using Google Message or Signals. If you're using the Verizon Messages (Messages+) app, the image is sharp and clear. uhg... so, between a rock and a hard place here.

Well if you do not have message+ installed maybe a similar issue caused by some other app...

Let's start with basics, the work around was to disable phone calls option toggle in bluetooth settings (without uninstalling anything)... You need to do this to any connected Bluetooth device that is capable... If your issues persist with this done then it must be a different issue.

I know it sucks but give it a shot you should know quickly within a few days.

Settings > connected devices > gear next to each bluetooth device... Toggle Off "Phone calls"

Again just a test for a day or two... If your issues stop it must be similar to our message+ issue

Yeah this does suck... It is not really the app itself rather then some carrier config I think that sits below the app so it impacts them all.

I think message+ gets around this as it's pre configured with its own.

Maybe now that we confirmed the app causing microsoft can work with vzw, did you update your ticket with info about the app?

Another option would be to complain about poor defaults for VZW mms and how bad it is, but being an unlocked phone not sure how much vzw even cares.
