How to extract digital signature from X.509 certificate using Windows CryptoAPI (C++)?

I'm writing a proof-of-concept in C++ on Windows to extract the digital signature (not the signature algorithm, but the actual BIT STRING of the signature) from an X.509 certificate.

Is there a Windows CryptoAPI (Wincrypt.h) or other native Windows API that provides direct access to the signature bytes (like OpenSSL's X509_get0_signature)?

Right now I'm parsing the DER manually using pointer math. It works, but is fragile.

Any function or structure that exposes the signature directly?
