Surface Pro 4 Screen Shaking/Shuddering up and down while Idle

Hi guys, 

I have the exact same problem. Adding the seconds works on a whole but the screen still shakes from time to time. It definitely seems to be a heat related problem.

Actually, i think i found a way to fix it...

Its very easy... Just install F.lux software and it will back to normal...

If you dont know how to use f.lux... I usually set F.lux settings to 4.300K at day and 2900 at night..

It doesn't work me though... Have you tried to run your Surface a bit hotter than by normal web browsing? It usually takes some time until the flickering starts but then it will only stop when I keep the display refresh rate high (aka adding seconds or whatever works) or when it - I guess - cools down a bit.

I think I may have had this issue before and it just solved itself. However, my Surface Pro 4's screen has recently began to shake/shudder up and down while it is idle. If I am watching a movie, typing, or even moving the cursor it is fine just not when it is idle. It happened after I needed to render quite a few videos consecutively with Adobe Premiere Pro.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a software/firmware issue, or hardware? I am worried that it is going to begin shaking while I am not idle and that will become increasingly frustrating while editing.

I've just been through all the troubleshooting steps with MS Tech Support and they've confirmed that the shaking screen is a known issue affecting some SP4s.

They will replace under warranty but can give no guarantee that the replacement won't also suffer from the same issue.

They are hoping a patch will be released that will fix the issue.

Well adding seconds has worked for me, except a few times when it gets to hot it occasionally shakes between seconds. I am still unsure about what causes the issue based on my experiences.

But I am also 10,000km and 3 months away from being able to get a warranty replacement so...
