VPN Client Support

The info page for the new Samsung RT tablet - the ATIV tab - says:

Enterprise Solutions (upon request): Exchange ActiveSync, On-Device Encryption, Cisco VPN (Virtual Private Network), Juniper Junos Pulse VPN, EAS

But the Junos Pulse client is not in the Windows Store - so either Samsung has some exclusive deal with Juniper, or this is a "coming soon" feature.

I'd like an answer. As much as I love the Surface hardware, if I cannot get the last piece of the puzzle I need for work, the Pulse client, and it is available on another vendor's tablet, I'll need to think about switching.

I would really like an answer from Microsoft on this one.

And to re-confirm - the ATIV is a Windows 8 RT tablet, NOT a Windows 8 Pro tablet.

    I hope windows RT with desktop mode option wins in the Windows phone 9 merger with windows rt.

    I love desktop mode on ARM. So powerful.

    I don't need silver light, but until VMWare fixes PCoIP with their windows 8 / RT app, I could use Cisco any connect...  Hurry up Cisco!! Hurry up VMWare!!

    Agreed, I don't want a phone OS on my Surface RT.

    I wouldn't be surprised if the holdup for PCoIP in the store app isn't the same issues as VPNs... i.e. no access to most of the main Windows APIs.

    Is there an update in the meantime? I saw windows RT 8.1 had some VPN updates but still no Cisco VPN support (ipsec, groupname and secret).  Are there any plans in implementing this? 

    My Ipad 2 has no issues connecting to VPN at work, would be sad if this won't be possible on Windows RT. Please give us some light on this subject.

    From what I have read, it seems MS is going to combine Windows Phone & RT.

    This is a smart move because it doubles the application development speed.

    Also it helps the Surface RT get the niche qualities it truly deserved as well as the phones.

    Looking at devices like the Nokia Lumia 1520 (6" tablet phone) and things are getting sharper.

    There are some issues like NFC charging formats with them but the truth be told.

    The RT and Lumia phones would be major business heavy hitters with high portabillity.

    MS would take off in sales dramatically if they could just get the VPN and Silverlight for the new OS update evolution.

    Side by side use with people on an iPad and a Surface RT, everyone chose the Surface around me, then wanted to cry when it didn't have VPN or app support to watch their cable TV on it. (without Silverlight it can't.)

    The Surface Pro is just a lower grade of most touchscreen laptops with Win 8 Pro (that cost less money).

    The Surface RT however with its lighter weight and longer battery life is a perfect fit.

    I just tried to connect to a Juniper VPN after today's patch.  ....no luck.  I still get 'Error connecting to [vpnname] Unknown Error.'

    I'd buy 10 of them right now if they used AnyConnect SSL.

    MS, guys, seriously?

    This is as bad as the Nokia Lumia being issued without any kind of functional application data usage in the device. Leaving it up to the carrier to implement some proprietary MS software was complete idiocy.

    Or the theme problems with Windows 8/8.1 you cant change the title bar text color. Cripe even windows 3.1 could do that!

    These are a few glaringly lazy ridiculous application releases that make MS its own worst enemy to its own success.
