VPN Client Support

The info page for the new Samsung RT tablet - the ATIV tab - says:

Enterprise Solutions (upon request): Exchange ActiveSync, On-Device Encryption, Cisco VPN (Virtual Private Network), Juniper Junos Pulse VPN, EAS

But the Junos Pulse client is not in the Windows Store - so either Samsung has some exclusive deal with Juniper, or this is a "coming soon" feature.

I'd like an answer. As much as I love the Surface hardware, if I cannot get the last piece of the puzzle I need for work, the Pulse client, and it is available on another vendor's tablet, I'll need to think about switching.

I would really like an answer from Microsoft on this one.

And to re-confirm - the ATIV is a Windows 8 RT tablet, NOT a Windows 8 Pro tablet.

Hi MS... why no clear answer and position from you?

When I bought my RT device (Asus Vivo Tab) I was quite sure that Cisco vpn was build in it or already availaible in windows store. What a disappointment.... if it was in my Ipad, why not in the devices supposed to strongly compete with Apple in the market...

I'm not interested in pro versions.. too heavy...

Result: My device is since a few minutes to sale on Ebay.. Back to Ipad...

althoug i really liked it, it was useless without giving me access to my companay which uses PSK authentification....

I manage the network for my company and we use Juniper Pulse VPN Client to connect remotely to our network.  Approximately 200 to 300 Clients.  I have had a number of them ask about the Windows Surface RT but even though I really like the device I can not recommend for them to get one do to this limitation.  Most do not want the pro due to the lager size and lower battery life, so they are looking at the new ipad or droid tablets instead.  MS do we have any updates on when a Pulse or Cisco client might be available.  You are really missing out on a number of sales because of this limitation.

Hi, I was wondering when to expect the Cisco VPN support on windows RT.

To make my point: I really need this to access my university literature. Without this VPN I cannot access the university library proxy - this blocks me from doing my research.

Any word on at least Shrewd VPN coming as either an app or even just a desktop Windows 7 ARM version? They seem to at least have a Windows 8 IPSec client that works using intel laptops.

    Greetings everyone,

Michael, I know I'm a bit late answering your question, but: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_rt

We haven't been given any more information for the VPN's at this time. The request is in with the Product Team, and all I can do is keep adding to the request.

Keep trying. Last night I decided to go home without my laptop and what do you know, i received a request for workpapers. I couldn't do the work because I cannot VPN. I am in the office now getting the work done.
