VPN Client Support

The info page for the new Samsung RT tablet - the ATIV tab - says:

Enterprise Solutions (upon request): Exchange ActiveSync, On-Device Encryption, Cisco VPN (Virtual Private Network), Juniper Junos Pulse VPN, EAS

But the Junos Pulse client is not in the Windows Store - so either Samsung has some exclusive deal with Juniper, or this is a "coming soon" feature.

I'd like an answer. As much as I love the Surface hardware, if I cannot get the last piece of the puzzle I need for work, the Pulse client, and it is available on another vendor's tablet, I'll need to think about switching.

I would really like an answer from Microsoft on this one.

And to re-confirm - the ATIV is a Windows 8 RT tablet, NOT a Windows 8 Pro tablet.

    Oddly enough, I'm finally to the point where I have pretty much everything I need on my RT without a VPN.

    At work we are in the process of deploying Aruba ClearPass (802.1x authentication) which allows me to access my AD file shares and pretty much anything else on our production network via wireless without the need for a VPN. It's seriously awesome!!

    Off campus I use a VMware View virtual desktop. While a VPN option in this case would still be really nice, it is no longer required either.

    Still wish they would open up Windows on ARM.

    PPTP is compromised. Microsoft should never have released it, it comes down to a single des key to hack. It should be removed from all operating systems. You can pay $25 dollars on the internet to have PPTP traffic hacked. Do not use this.

    Well, even after the Win8.1-Update 1, still the built in Junos Pulse does not work. Even on Windows 8.1.  You still have to install the desktop version for VPN access.  Why have the built in versions, if you can't use them?

    Have we tried blowing up TechNet? I bet tier 3 and above tech support reads that site.

    Cisco has an open issue with MS to offer API access to RT and MS has never responded.

    It is tragic, and stunningly ridiculous for the company to do this to this device.

    It was nearly the perfect device until they neutered it.

    I've always figured this was the case. The artificial restrictions on the win32 and .NET APIs in Windows RT is infuriating.

    Let me say it another way... the APIs are all there! They are just all locked away for anyone and everyone except Microsoft.

    That has single-handedly been the downfall of this OS. Apparently Microsoft doesn't read this forum or they would have gotten the message that people want to do more than just simple modern ui apps. All they had to do was provide a way for "power users" to change the signing restrictions (though I would vote to throw them out entirely... make it the same as x86 Windows), and Cisco (and others) could have recompiled their AnyConnect client for ARM years ago. It would have been a non-issue.

    Instead Windows RT is being rendered irrelevant. Sad. Windows on ARM could have been soooo much more.

    To any forum members or moderators... how exactly do we contact Microsoft as Cisco suggests?? I've posted comments about theses topics many places here and on other forums, and nothing has come of it, nor has anyone ever directed me to any sort of "feature request" contact at Microsoft.
