Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter with Surface Pro 3 Resolution Problem

My Surface Pro 3 is fully updated with the latest firmware and updates and the wireless display also has the latest updates.

When I have my bluetooth on and I connect to the wireless display adapter, my TV's max resolution that I can set is 1366 x 768 but when I turn my bluetooth off first and then connect to the wireless display adapter I can set my TV to 1920 x 1080.

It's kind of annoying to have to turn bluetooth off first before I connect to my tv. Is there something I can do to fix this issue?

I have updated to windows 10 yesterday on my Surface Pro 3 (I7) and have all updates (and the latest intel driver)...

It seemed to work but there is horrible screen tearing in video's: (vlc, mediaplayer classic, ...) when playing mkv's.

So I booted the Microsoft wireless display adapter app and it sad I needed an update for my adapter. So I let the app do its thing and in the middle of the update it said that the update failed and that I should try another time. So i closed the app and restarted the app and by wonder it said that the firmware was up to date and indeed the firmware number had changed (1.3.8220). Previously it was: 1.2.7303

So I tried to view a video again but now I have HORRIBLE stuttering. Around 3 or 4 frames per second. and suddenly after about 15 minutes (don't ask me why I waited so long, pure luck in my opinion) it started to normalize but still with the tearing. But when I disconnect and reconnect it's again HORRIBLE.

So I effectively ruined the adapter by upgrading as it worked before. And previously if I had bad quality I could remedy it by choosing a lower resolution (I know not something you want to do) but this does not help this time...

So are there any options left? Can I downgrade the adapter to a previous firmware?

Just wanted to add myself to the list of annoyed people having experienced this bug. Using a Logitech M557 mouse, if it is connected -> low resolution, if i then dare to move the mouse the display-connection will eventually break. Disconnect the bluetooth mouse and everything works fine.

    1. what is the version of the Intel Video driver?
    2. what Bluetooth devices are attached to the SP3?
